Heirloom. This variety came to us highly recommended from pepper freak Mark Waltermire of Thistle Whistle Farm; we were not disappointed. A Bulgarian heirloom, this pepper produces plentiful long, triangular sweet peppers, even in our short season! (Though it does not beat the Jimmy Nardello or Melrose for earliness.) Absolutely outstanding with its nice thick skin when roasted and is great fresh as well. Ripens from green to fire engine red.
